Pumpkin Surprises, Blumfest Horror, and Zone Troopers’ Alien Invasion! Video!

Hey, binge-watchers! It’s officially that time of the year—pumpkin spice is everywhere. And while you're cozying up with your lattes, why not hop onto Pornhub and search "pumpkin"? Yes, you heard that right. Just type in "pumpkin" in the search bar and prepare to be... pleasantly surprised. There's an interesting trend surrounding that word, and trust me, it’s worth a peek.

Now, let’s talk horror...

Blumfest 2024 is Coming! AMC Theaters and Blumhouse have teamed up to bring us Blumfest 2024. Every Wednesday night in October, they’re screening iconic horror films across 54 cities. If you're lucky enough to be near Atlanta, Austin, Boston, LA, or New York (to name a few), you can catch classics like Happy Death Day and The Black Phone in theaters!

Prime Video's 'Brothers' Trailer
Prime Video just dropped the trailer for Brothers, starring Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage as twin criminals pulling off a final heist. Imagine if Twins (Arnold and DeVito) had a sequel—but it didn’t, so we’re getting Brothers instead. And yes, there's a scene with an orangutan that has Brolin reaching for the hand sanitizer. It’s gonna be a good time.

Paramount+ Halloween Picks Speaking of Peak Screaming time on Paramount+, here's what I found on their spooky season list:

  • It Follows

  • Talk to Me

  • Event Horizon

  • OG Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the movie, not the show)

They even have a retro ‘90s Nickelodeon Nick-A-Ween playlist for the nostalgia junkies.

Family Guy and The Simpsons Halloween Specials If you’re a TV fan, get ready for some animated Halloween fun. Family Guy is dropping a new Halloween special on October 14th, featuring Peter Griffin in a pumpkin carving contest against Top Gun’s Glenn Powell. And over on Disney+, The Simpsons is getting in on the Halloween action with Sideshow Bob teaming up with Disney villains in a new special, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

Pickleball in Movie Theaters? Now, here’s something bizarre—movie theaters are adding pickleball courts to their amenities. Yes, you read that right. So, after you blow out your knee on the court, you can hobble into the cinema for some popcorn and a flick. Makes perfect sense, right? What a time to be alive.

Movie of the Night: Zone Troopers
Tonight’s feature film is the 1985 cult classic, Zone Troopers. It’s American soldiers vs. Nazis vs. aliens. Yup, it’s as wild as it sounds. Starring Tim Thomerson (Trancers), Art LaFleur (Field of Dreams), and Biff Manard (The Flash), these GIs stumble upon a downed alien spacecraft in Nazi-occupied Italy. Cue the ray guns, magnetic interference, and hilariously bad German extras. If you like your aliens bug-like and your war films historically inaccurate, this one’s for you.

Binge Now, Later, or Never?
It's a binge later. Sure, it’s fun, but the inaccuracies, especially with those not-so-German Nazis, are a bit much. Still, for a B-movie, it’s worth checking out—eventually.

Fan Service
Our artist friend, Ash Oblivion, commented about Wishmaster being a good stress reliever, likening it to the Bad Ben series, which is like found footage horror meets bad acting gold. Thanks, Ash!

Staff Picks: Sasquatch Sunset If you’re in the mood for something really weird, check out Sasquatch Sunset. It’s like a fly-on-the-wall documentary about Bigfoot, complete with Sasquatch sex, birth, rejection, mushrooms, and even some jam sessions. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, and it’s honestly on the fence between a binge now and binge later. Definitely worth a watch, especially if you’re into quirky Bigfoot flicks.

And that wraps up our pumpkin spice-flavored blog! Enjoy the spooky season, folks.
