Every Thing We Know About The Craft: Legacy - A Direct Sequel To The Craft Movie
The Craft: Legacy is Blumhouse's sequel to the original 1996 witchcraft movie The Craft, scheduled to be released VOD Oct. 28.
The original had a fiery and delightfully dark Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True losing control of their supernatural powers as their own desires destroyed them and spurred an internal conflict within their coven.
The original also terrorized the teenagers it intended to entertain by employing popular well-known superstitions and urban legends into the black magic seen on screen, so it felt almost real and evil.
There's a new coven of sisters, played by Cailee Spaeny (Bad Times at the El Royale), Gideon Adlon (Blockers), Lovie Simone (Greenleaf), and Zoey Luna (Pose).
Directed by and written by Zoe Lister-Jones, this new film sees a new coven come together and lose it. We will have to wait and see if it can outshine the original; big shoes to fill.
There are supposedly references to the original film such as including a “Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board scene”; Nancy Downs, the wicked witch of the first one appears at least in a photo; and the catch phrase echoes: ″We are the weirdos, mister."
The trailer feels like Netflix’s dark take on Sabrina The Teenage Witch.
Michelle Monaghan, David Duchovny, and Nicholas Galitzine are also featured in the cast.
We have high expectations for this one as fans, so we will be keeping our eye on this one, and curses, if it sucks.
